So in addition to redesigning my LiveJournal layout, I also redesigned my blog layout to match! And I have redone my little profile comic that sits in my profile on LJ, but you can see it here too.

Now everything is much more the same style. I’m also sort of boggled by how much nicer my art is in just a year and a half. Much cuter!

I also draw a goldfish for [info]queenofhalves in exchange for her generous donation to help the tornado recovery in the South.

Thanks, [info]queenofhalves!

So this weekend, Rina and I will be at MoCCA Fest and it will be glorious!

If you stop by, you can find us here:

That is Table G10! Just like the Countries participating in the GAB.

Rina is going to have an all-new Velia, Dear book. I am going to have my new Tarot Deck, plus two new minis and assorted not-new minis. And I will be doing Tarot readings, too!

Please stop by! I will be happy to see you!

I started the first part of this post and then realized that there was really no way to adapt it for those of you who are visually impaired, so I apologize most sincerely for that and I did come up with a second half to the post that I hope makes up for the oversight.

Part 1 is A New Year’s Gift for you all: Tea Paper Dolls!

paperdoll

Instructions: print out with a color printer on oak tag. Cut out with a pair of scissors. Make sure to cut a small cut betwen my shoulders and my hair. Then dress me!
All of the clothes included are clothes I actually own!

Part 2 is a photographic story about unwrapping Christmas presents.

My father got very artistic with the presents this year. This first one was for my mother:

"Sun Melts Away The Pounds"

Description: There is a sunshine and a snowman. The snowman is saying “Sun Melts Away the Pounds!” Let me just say that my father’s artistic abilities? Would be the envy of many nursery schoolers.

There were several others with snowmen on them, but the piece de resistance was a drawing on one of my packages:

Why Did Chicken Get Present?

Give Up??

Description:

In picture #1, there is a picture of what my father claims is a chicken, in spite of the fact that is has four legs and no wings, in front of a box marked “Chick.” The caption says: “Why did Chicken get Present??”

Picture #2 just says “Give up???” And has a bunc h of arrows indicating that we should turn the box over. It is like Laffy Taffy, but with a box! AWESOME.

Ain't no dumb Cluck!

And Picture #3 is the answer to our riddle! It says, “Answer– If they don’t celebrate Chickenmas, may as well celebrate Christmas… Hey– This ain’t no dumb cluck!

Argh, so…I apologize to all of you who have gotten mega crazy blanks updates but ComicPress is so not working the way I expect it to. Instead, have my classwork in all its glory in a single post.

To start, though, I am posting the LAST picture I did because it has a special thingy attached to it!

So, yes! This is the deal. If you can’t give me $10 but can give me a buck or two, talk to me and I will make you something else!

The rest of this class’ artworks is under the cut.

Mere is graduating from college this weekend!

Now, there is a story here. I have two longtime internet friends who are both named Mere and both from Washington. One Mere came to New York this week and the two of us went to Carnegie Deli on Thursday night and gorged ourselves on giant meat sandwiches. But before dinner, we went to Kate’s Paperie because I thought Mere would like looking at all the fancy shmancy papers and it was kind of damp out so it was nice to have a dry place to walk around.

While we were in Kate’s, I saw a card that had a little horse and rider woodcut on it, and it said VICTORY in big letters. We talked about how it was a great graduation card– and then I realized that it would be a PERFECT card for the OTHER Mere, the one who was not in New York! Because that Mere loves horsies. (Edit to add: Here is a link to the card that I saw!)

So I went home and I told Mere about the card. And she said it WAS the perfect card for her. Only it would be more perfect if it had Clint Eastwood, a springer spaniel, and Washington Irving and John Adams making out on the front of it.

HAPPY GRADUATION MERE.

Also, if you are wondering if I have any actual life news to report? The answer is no, just Tesla.
